Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information the Islam Insights app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We only collect what is needed to provide the app's features.
Information We Collect
- Location: If you allow it, your location is used to calculate prayer times, the Qibla direction and the Hijri date. Prayer times are calculated on your device. To show local weather, find nearby places and, if the on-device calculation is unavailable, fetch prayer times, your coordinates are sent to the services listed under Data Sharing. You can also set your location manually.
- Account information: If you choose to sign in with email, Google or Apple, we receive your email address (and name, if provided) to create and manage your account. You can use most of the app as a guest without an account.
- App content you save: Bookmarks, preferences and similar data are stored on your device, and synced to your account when you are signed in.
- Advertising identifier: With your permission (see Advertising below), advertising identifiers may be used to show relevant ads.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction, send prayer and content reminders you enable, sync your saved content across sessions, and to support and improve the app. We do not sell your personal information.
Advertising & Tracking
Islam Insights shows ads through Google AdMob. On iOS, before any tracking identifier is used, we ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you do not allow tracking, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized using your advertising identifier. You can change this choice at any time in your device Settings.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, we use them to send prayer time reminders and daily Islamic content. Notifications are optional and can be turned off in the app or in your device settings.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We use third-party services to run the app. They process data only as needed to deliver their service, under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase: sign-in, database and messaging
- Google AdMob: advertising
- Prayer-time, weather and place-search providers (such as AlAdhan, OpenWeather, OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Google Places), which receive the coordinates needed to answer a request
- Quran, Hadith and radio content providers, which receive only the content request
Data Retention & Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your account and its associated data at any time in the app, under Settings → Account & Privacy → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your account record and signs you out. Data stored only on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Children's Privacy
Islam Insights is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Choices
You control location, notification and tracking permissions from your device settings, and you can use the app as a guest without an account. You may delete your account at any time as described above.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
